Privacy Policy

What we collect, where it is kept, and what you can do about it. In plain words.

Last updated: 5 October 2026

The short version
  • PULSE never asks for your bank login, card numbers or UPI PIN, and never reads your SMS.
  • When you sign in, the money data you type is saved on our server under your account, so it is there on any phone or browser you sign in on.
  • We do not sell your data, show ads, or share your data with advertisers.
  • You can delete your account and everything saved with it, any time, from inside the app.

Who we are

PULSE (pulsemoney.in) is built and run by Krishna Raval in Mumbai, India. "We" and "us" on this page mean PULSE.

What we collect

  • Your account. Your email address, the name you give us (or the first name Google shares when you sign in with Google), Google's ID number for your account if you use Google, the date you joined and your member number. We never see or store a password: you sign in with Google or with a code we email you.
  • The money data you type. Your accounts and balances, income, expenses, plans, budgets, bills, loans, investments, splits and the names of people you split with. PULSE only knows what you type in. It is not connected to your bank.
  • Reminders. If you turn reminders on, your browser gives us an address we can send notifications to, along with the reminders you have queued.
  • Anonymous usage counts. Once a day the app sends a small summary: a random ID that is not linked to your account, the date, the kind of device, and counts such as how many expenses were added. It never includes amounts, names, or what you bought.
  • Feedback. What you write in the feedback form, and your email address if you choose to add it.

What we never collect

  • Bank passwords, card numbers, CVV, UPI PIN or OTPs from your bank.
  • Your SMS, your contacts, your photos or your location.
  • Anything for advertising. PULSE has no ads and no ad trackers.

Where your data is kept, and who can open it

If you use PULSE without signing in (where that is offered), your money data stays in your browser on your own device.

When you sign in, your money data is saved on our hosting provider's servers under your account. It is stored in an encrypted form, and PULSE keeps the key so that we can give your data back to you on any device you sign in on. This means PULSE is technically able to open it. We only do so when it is needed to run the service, to fix a problem you have reported, or when the law requires it.

Splits shared with friends. When you connect with a friend or join a shared group, only the splits and settle-ups between you and those people are shared with them. That shared part is locked on your phone with a key that only travels inside the invite link, so our server stores it without being able to read it. The text of a notification ("You owe Krishna ₹150") passes through our server on its way to your friend's phone and is not kept.

Companies that help us run PULSE

We share only what each one needs to do its job:

  • Netlify hosts the website and stores the data described above. Its servers may be outside India.
  • Google, if you choose "Continue with Google", confirms who you are and tells us your email address and first name. Google's own privacy policy covers what Google does.
  • Resend delivers our emails: sign-in codes, and replies to feedback.
  • Your browser's notification service (run by Google, Apple or Mozilla, depending on your phone) delivers reminders you have switched on.

We do not sell your data, and we do not give it to anyone else unless the law requires us to.

Your choices

  • See and take your data. Everything is visible in the app. You can copy all of it as a backup code or a spreadsheet from You → Backup code & export.
  • Correct it. You can edit or delete anything you have entered.
  • Delete your account. You → Your account → Delete my account removes your account and the money data saved with it from our server, and clears it from that device. This cannot be undone.
  • Sign out. Signing out clears your data from that device. It stays safe in your account.
  • Turn reminders off at any time from You → Reminders.

How long we keep it

We keep your account and its data for as long as your account exists. When you delete your account, the account and its saved money data are removed straight away. Splits you already shared with a friend stay in that friend's own PULSE, the same way a message you sent stays on someone else's phone. Feedback you send is kept so we can act on it.

Age

PULSE is meant for people who are 18 or older. If you are under 18, please use PULSE only with a parent's or guardian's permission.

Changes to this page

If we change how we handle your data, we will update this page and the date at the top. For a big change, we will also tell you inside the app.

Questions or complaints

Write to us from inside the app at You → Send feedback, or message @pulsemoney.in on Instagram. A real person reads every message.
